Often described as the “most beautiful corner of England” Saturdays tour offers a wonderful introduction to the magnificent scenery of the English Lake District. Ten lakes, three mountain passes, an extended cruise from mountains to moorland on Ullswater - “Queen of the English Lakes”, a beautiful waterfall, Castlerigg Stone Circle, the ancient township of Keswick for lunch and a stop over in the delightful village of Grasmere make this a most comprehensive, popular and satisfying tour of the Lake District. Visiting central, north, north-west and north-east parts of Cumbria this is the ideal way to appreciate why this area has inspired poets and artists alike and for generations has drawn visitors from all over the world. Throughout the tour there are frequent stops for photographs and short walks.

The tour can pick you up from your accommodation at around 09.45 giving you a relaxed start to the day with plenty of time to enjoy your breakfast, most tours return around 17.30.

In the evening explore Windermere and Bowness many and varied restaurants, bars and pubs or go for a stroll down by the lake shore.

A more relaxed start to today with pick up at 11.00 giving you time to check out the local shops

Today we explore the southern and central Lake District. This tour allows sufficient time to relax and enjoy 9 lakes and tarns, to stroll at beautiful Tarn Hows, visit the ancient villages of Hawkshead, Grasmere, Sawrey and Elterwater. Spend 40 minutes at Hilltop home of Beatrix Potter and enjoy a cruise on Coniston Water. Photo opportunities are available at all stages of this guided tour including Dove Cottage.

We return to Windermere at 15.30 and your driver can drop you at the train station or your accommodation

You can enjoy the journey home knowing you have seen and experinced amongst the best that the Lakes has to offer but hopefully have the desire to return and explore some more.
